LSU defeated the University of South Carolina 61-52 on Saturday night in the last men’s basketball home game of the season. Junior forward Glen Davis returned to the lineup after sitting out three games with a strained quadriceps muscle. Davis did not start but scored 11 points in 25 minutes of play. Sophomore forward Tasmin Mitchell led the Tigers with 21 points, and senior forward Darnell Lazare added 12 points and eight rebounds. Lazare, a Baton Rouge native, played his last home game as a Tiger and was honored with a pre-game senior recognition ceremony. LSU practices Monday and Tuesday before traveling to Atlanta for the Southeastern Conference tournament. The Tigers must win the tournament to receive an NCAA tournament bid.
