Baton Rouge police released a report Monday afternoon detailing the early Friday morning alleged altercation at the Varsity Theatre. LSU football players Ryan Perrilloux and Derrick Odom III are identified in the report as being confrontational when asked to leave at closing time.
No parties involved have been arrested, and Sgt. Don Kelly said this afternoon that the investigation will take at least several days to complete.
According to the report written by officer Jeremy Bourgeois, Varsity owner Brent McClellan told police that bouncers were trying to clear the club but hampered by several resistant black males, including Odom and Perrilloux.
McClellan told police that the men said they would “come back with guns to shoot the staff and the club itself.” Grant McGurdy, head bouncer of the Varsity, told police that one of the males said he would get “a gun to shoot the bar and its workers.”
Perrilloux, labeled as “the most confrontational inside the bar,” told police that Varsity bouncers were harassing his pregnant girlfriend and physically grabbed her for no reason. Perrilloux told police no one in his friend group had any weapons and that he felt his race was cause for mistreatment.
Odom told police he also fought bouncers after observing the mistreatment of Perrilloux and his girlfriend.
McClellan told Perrilloux, Odom and the additional men that they were not welcome at the Varsity. McClellan told police he did not wish to file charges at the time.

LSU football coach Les Miles said backup quarterback Ryan Perrilloux and backup linebacker Derrick Odom III will not practice today.
Both players were linked to a fight early Friday morning at the Varsity Theatre, although no charges have been filed.
Miles opened his weekly press luncheon today by saying that the team will prepare to play Alabama on Saturday without both players.
“I don’t know the specifics,” Miles said of the alleged altercation.
Miles said he wants to gather all of the necessary information before making a decision on the future of both players.
He also said he would not answer any further questions on the incident until more information becomes available.
