Rolling out of bed five minutes before class may become a habit, but donning an ensemble that inevitably includes gray sweat pants doesn’t have to. Even with mere minutes to get dressed, it isn’t difficult to throw together an outfit that does not scream “overslept.”
For the women, a classic T-shirt-and-jeans outfit can be instantly dressed up with colorful beads and basic black heels .
Men can substitute neutral cords for blue jeans. Also, belts with unique buckles can add an extra element to any outfit.
Graphic tees are also making a comeback. Stores like Target and Delia’s have racks full of them, but there are several online options as well.
For original designs, check out Threadless.com, where all the tees are designed by members of the site. According to Threadless, members may download templates, create a design and submit it to be scored. Designers whose shirts are chosen may win cash or prizes. Designs are scored for a period of seven days, according to the site.
To wear your own T-shirt design, click to Neighborhoodies.com, which allows customers to choose the color, graphic and text of tees, sweat shirts, dresses, underwear, pants or bags — each item is available in various styles — and order the customized item. The site also features ready-made tops, including political, pop culture and even Harry Potter references.
So before throwing on that ratty tee from a fourth-grade field day, consider something comfortable but with a unique twist.
