LSU junior quarterback JaMarcus was reported to have signed with NFL agent Eric Metz, but his family says that is not true, according to the Shreveport Times.
LSU Sports Information Director Michael Bonnette said the Sugar Bowl Most Valuable Player will discuss his future, whether at LSU or in the NFL, at a press conference on Wednesday in the LSU Athletic Building.
Both Russell’s mother, Zina Russell-Anderson, and another family member denied reports that Russell had signed with an agent, thereby forfeiting his senior season in the NCAA. They said he is still making up his mind about leaving or staying.
“Our family all talked about it with JaMarcus,” Russell-Anderson told the Times on Saturday night. “But we haven’t made a decision, and JaMarcus wants to talk about it with his coach before he decides.”
Russell will reportedly meet with LSU coach Les Miles before deciding his future.
