NEW ORLEANS (AP) — The Obama adminstration has named a new federal coordinator for Gulf Coast rebuilding.
The appointment of Janet L. Woodka was announced Tuesday by Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano.
Woodka’s resume includes serving as legislative affairs director for two previous federal coordinators and as legislative director to Democratic Louisiana Sen. Mary Landrieu.
A news release from Homeland Security said Woodka would report directly to Napolitano and have a direct line of communication to the White House.
President Barack Obama extended the federal coordinator’s office, first established by executive order by President George W. Bush, through September.
