Students can munch on free popcorn while watching Juno tonight in the Union Ballroom.
The Student Activities Board Pop Fusion Committee hosts an outdoor movie event annually during the Spring Invitational Program, but because of the hard rain earlier today, the event has been moved indoors.
A committee of about 10 students selected to show Juno over other films including Twilight, The Dark Night and Nick and Norah’s Infinite Playlist.
“Even though it’s not a new release, it’s something people can enjoy,” said Vaughn Johnson, Pop Fusion Committee chair.
But when Juno was released in 2007, some viewers were concerned with the film glorifying teen pregnancy.
“We are in no way advocating teen pregnancy,” Johnson said. “It’s a real issue now, and we just felt like everyone would be able to handle that.”
Johnson said she expects at least 300 students to attend the event.
