Carmichael Complext released an statement Sept. 16 announcing reciting a student ID number will no longer be sufficient to gain access to Carmichael Complex beginning Oct. 12.According to the release, non-authorized users were abusing the system.”The Complex staff is taking a proactive approach to ensure the safety of authorized users and their identities by requiring ID in accordance with University policy,” the release said.The provision is said to “eliminate the chance for communication errors between patrons and staff and will make for easier entry into the building.”The release encouraged the use of hand stamps for those who will frequently be going in and out of the complex, and said students can use one “free admittance” per semester if they forget their ID.Check out Technician later this week for more on this story.
