LSU baseball coach Paul Mainieri announced Tuesday that sophomore right-hander Austin Ross will get the start on the mound in game two for the Tigers.Ross and LSU will have a chance to close out the national championship after an 11-inning, game-one victory Monday.Ross, the Tigers’ Sunday starter for most of the season, has not started a game since the first game of the Baton Rouge Regional on May 29 against Southern. The Shreveport native allowed two earned runs on seven hits and a walk while striking out 10 batters in 6 2/3 innings pitched in the start against the Jaguars. But Ross has also pitched some in relief at the College World Series, most recently allowing two earned runs on two walks and three hits in an inning against Arkansas on Friday.Mainieri also said sophomore right-hander Anthony Ranaudo could be available to come into Tuesday’s game against Texas out of the bullpen.—-Contact The Daily Reveille sports staff at [email protected]
