The LSU Men’s Baseball team lost to the Texas A&M Aggies Thursday night at home, with a score of 4 to 0.
LSU had trouble at the plate getting four hits. Junior right-handed pitcher Alex Lange pitched eight innings allowing nine hits, two earned runs, but tallied 12 strikeouts in his loss.
The Aggies scored half of their runs off one swing of the bat with a two-run home run in the fifth inning by senior center fielder Nick Choruby and scored two more in the ninth to claim the victory.
Head Coach Paul Mainieri, spoke about his teams lack of performance, against the Aggies.
“We obviously are in a little bit of a rut offensively, and we just need to come out of it,” Mainieri said.
Lange spoke of his off pitching night.
“I just got to go up there and throw zero’s tonight, and that’s the toughest part not pitching well enough to give your team a chance,” Lange said.
The Tigers had three crucial errors, by Senior second baseman Cole Freeman, Junior catcher Michael Papierski, and Junior starting pitcher Alex Lange.
Kramer Robertson has faith in his team because as a senior he has been in this position before.
“We’re going to be okay, I like the team we have, we have good players, and as a Senior it’s important for me to keep everybody relaxed and let them know that this isn’t something new and it happens to everyone,” Robertson said.
The Aggies starting pitcher Junior Bringham Hill pitched eight innings and only allowed three hits.
The Tigers hope to bounce back, and tie up the series when they face the Texas A&M Aggies Friday night.
