On any normal week, LSU’s campus is a tranquil sanctuary lined with the stately oaks and broad magnolias for which Louisiana’s flagship university is known. But this is not a normal week. This is Bama week.
The rivalry began in 1895 with a 12-6 win at home for the Tigers. Since then, the hatred between the two schools has only increased.
Alabama leads the series 50-25-2. The last time LSU defeated the Crimson Tide was in 2011 in Bryant-Denny Stadium.
The Tigers return to Tuscaloosa this weekend in hopes of breaking their six-game losing streak against Alabama. In anticipation of the game, TigerTV spoke with some LSU students to hear their thoughts about the game.
Most students are remaining optimistic despite being a 21 and a half point underdog. However their lightheartedness does not apply when speaking about former-LSU head coach and current Alabama head coach, Nick Saban.
“I would tell Nick Saban that he’s a traitor,” one student said.
The much anticipated rivalry game will kickoff at 7 p.m. on Alabama’s home turf. The game will broadcast on CBS.
