1. Thundercat: Multi-genre singer and bassist Thundercat will bring his smooth sound to the Varsity Theatre on Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. and will be joined by opening acts Saco & Uno and local group Hydra Plane.
2. KLSU’s College Radio Day: Celebrate college radio and the sounds of Baton Rouge at Barcadia for free Oct. 6, with four various local music acts starting at 7 p.m.
3. The Rocky Horror Picture Show: Kicking off October, on Oct. 6 and Oct. 7 starting at 10 p.m., the annual live action Rocky Horror Picture Show will return to the Manship Theatre. Costumes and props are encouraged.
4. Flambeau Festival: This two-day country festival beginning Oct. 7 promises a relaxing weekend of American music with headliners Lynyrd Skynyrd and Sam Hunt. The festival will be located on the grounds behind the Lamar Dixon Expo Center in Gonzales.
5. Ogden Park Prowl: Beginning Saturday at 1 p.m., this free neighborhood arts festival in Mid City will feature local artists, live musicians and artisans from across the state
