New information has become available about the investigation into the death of Fraternity pledge Max Gruver.
Search warrants filed Monday indicate that Gruver may have been forced to consume alcohol in excess during a drinking game.
While interviewing several people close to the case, LSUPD found out that Phi Delta Theta pledges received a group text message on September 13th that a “Bible Study” would take place at 10pm at the frat house.
This “Bible Study”, police said, was actually a situation where pledges were asked questions about the fraternity and then forced to drink alcohol if answered incorrectly.
The investigation indicates that an intoxicated Gruver was placed on the couch inside the frat house and later died to what appears to be an overdose of alcohol.
LSUPD determine Maxwell Gruver’s death was from hazing
