The University’s first-year, full-time students will be required to live on campus starting with the freshman class of 2018, according to the LSU Residential Life website. 
Students are able to apply for exemptions through myLSU. Exemptions could be given for the following reasons:

• Age 21 or older as of the first day of fall classes
• Married as of the first day of fall classes
• Custody of one or more dependent children
• Part-time enrollment
• Military service
• Residing with a parent or legal guardian within 50 miles of campus
• Residing in a property within 50 miles of campus that is owned by an immediate family member
• Other compelling circumstances
