The Tigers bounced back after the loss to Mississippi State with a win 35-26 over the Syracuse Orange.
The Tigers got more than they bargained for against the ACC foe, almost splitting time of possession and only winning the game by nine points.
LSU started off the game fast, with an interception by redshirt freshman cornerback Greedy Williams. He returned the interception to the one yard line before Derrius Guice punched it in for a touchdown.
At halftime, the score was 14-3, and the Tigers looked to be cruising toward a comfortable victory, but Syracuse had fight. They brought the game close with help from freshman Steve Ishmael, who tallied 11 catches for 123 yards. At one point it was a two point game with LSU leading 28-26.
The Orange could not pull off the comeback as senior wide receiver D.J. Chark put the game away taking a wide receiver sweep to the end zone.
The Orange move to 2-2 on the season and face N.C State in Raleigh on Sept. 30.
As for the Tigers, they move to 3-1 on the season and host Troy on Sept. 30.
