LSU rose one spot in the AP Top 25 poll this week to No. 12. 
With the win over BYU, the Tigers jumped from the preseason ranking of No. 13 ahead of SEC foe, Auburn. 
Auburn won its season opener against Georgia Southern, 41-7, but fell one spot. 
Senior quarterback Danny Etling threw 14-17 for 171 yards behind SEC lineman of the week, Garrett Brumfield. 
23 different LSU players played in their first career game and four true freshmen earned the starting nod. 
LSU held BYU to 97 total yards, the fewest since the team allowed 93 against ULM in 2014. It was also the team’s first shutout since the 31-0 win against ULM.  
The Tigers return to Tiger Stadium this Saturday to face Chattanooga.
