The LSU women’s golf team finished the first round of the Tiger-Wave Classic in second place three shots behind Alabama, who took advantage of three players shooting par or better.
LSU standout sophomore Tessa Teachman grabbed a share of the lead for the individual title following the first round after posting a 2-under par70.
Junior Megan McChrystal isn’t far behind Teachman. Her even-par 72 was good enough for a fourth-place tie.
“Tessa has worked really hard over the break,” said LSU Coach Karen Bahnsen in a news release. “I feel like she is going to have one of those breakout moments any time now. Megan played really steady and played even par. I felt like she could have shot under par if a few more putts would have dropped.”
The Lady Tigers will kick the second round off at 9:40 a.m. tomorrow.
