LSU junior weight thrower Walter Henning has been named the 2010 Southeastern Conference Men’s Field Athlete of the Year, the SEC announced Thursday.
Henning broke the SEC Indoor Championship meet record Feb. 27 with a 78-feet, 1-inch throw. He has won back-to-back SEC indoor weight throw titles and is the first person in LSU history to win the event.
Henning will compete in the 2010 NCAA Indoor Championships on March 12-13 in Fayetteville, Ark.
