Football: Peterson named All-American

LSU junior cornerback Patrick Peterson notched the first postseason accolade on his belt Monday.
The AFCA named Peterson to its All-America team. Peterson joins Auburn quarterback Cam Newton and South Carolina wide receiver Alshon Jeffery as the only Southeastern Conference representatives on the team.
Peterson finished the regular season with 36 tackles and four interceptions.
