7 Walkers is a blues rock band formed by New Orleans guitarist Papa Mali and legenary Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kreutzmann. Its self-titled debut album is dedicated to New Orleans and attempts to combine blues rock with the Big Easy’s flare. The result is what one would expect from the former Dead percussionist — a slow, hippy-fied album with all the familiar sounds of New Orleans music. “7 Walkers” is pleasant to listen to but nothing to write home about, and it comes dangerously close to boring.
