Robert Rodriguez’s latest film “Machete” is a non-stop indulgence of guns, sex, explosions and severed limbs. Fans of Rodriguez’s work will recognize his signature style. “Machete” has a shallow plot driven by one main problem and characters that don’t need much development. This allows Rodriguez to set up the essentials in the first 15 minutes and dedicate the rest of the movie to a giant string of gore and violence peppered with topless women. Where else can you see Lindsay Lohan dressed as a nun, hear Robert De Niro’s confession and then shoot him three times in the chest with a .357 magnum revolver?
