Grade: A-
Not your average love story, 20th Century Fox’s “Love and Other Drugs” deviates from the redundant chick-flick mold to deliver a moving plotline that deals with the reality of a modern relationship. Anne Hathaway shines as a Parkinson’s-ailing artist, and Jake Gyllenhaal sells love and other drugs as a pharmaceutical sales representative and playboy. With its gratuitous sex scenes, the movie portrays a modern relationship, which develops from friends with benefits to an actual romance. Gyllenhaal and Hathaway create an authentic on-sceen dynamic through their witty banter and superb acting.
