Sophomore defensive tackle Siaki “Apu” Ika is planning to enter the NCAA transfer portal, 247sports reported on Tuesday afternoon.
Ika showed promise as a true freshman, but so far in year two, has taken a backseat to Glen Logan and Joseph Evans, who have started on the defensive line. He didn’t play at all against Missouri because, as Ed Orgeron told reporters, he had a poor showing at practice in the days leading to the game.
Ika was a four-star recruit in 2019, ranked second overall by 247sports in the 2019 class in his home state of Utah. He recorded 17 tackles, including 1.5 for loss, in his freshman season.
