On Wednesday, thousands of high school students walked out of their classes to protest gun violence across the nation.
These walkouts are held in honor of the 17 lives lost in the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School in Florida.
Baton Rouge Magnet High along with many more Louisiana schools participated in this protest; it lasted 17 minutes in the representation of the 17 lives taken.
Student demand for stricter gun laws to ensure safety in the classroom.
As of today, the house has filed up to 6 bills associated with Gun violence that will be discussed in the coming weeks.
These walkouts will be followed by a National March that will be held on March 24th
