Sophomore pitcher Zack Hess threw 8 strikeouts to help lead the Tigers to a 9-3 victory of the Tennessee Volunteers Friday night.
Paired with an explosive night on offensive, Hess called it a “great team win.”
The Tigers hope to bring the stellar pitching and powerful hitting into Saturday night for game 2 of the series. First pitch is at 8 p.m. at Alex Box Stadium.
