Pete Carroll has a Super Bowl ring and an NFC championship under his belt as head coach for the Seattle Seahawks. He’s got plenty of trick up his sleeve, but there’s one thing he’s missing.
That thing is a man who also has a Super Bowl ring. He also happens to wear purple and gold and respond to “Jerry.” 
Jerry Sullivan took over as the Offensive Assistant and Passing Game Coordinator for LSU this season. He is known to be one of the best wide receiver coaches in college football and the NFL. 
Which is why Carroll said the one condition in which he would meet with LSU’s defensive back coaches, is if Sullivan would come along. 
“Obviously Jerry Sullivan is about as good as it gets,” Orgeron said. “I think we’ve got one of the best in the world.”
Tiger fans can only hope that Sullivan is one of the world’s greatest.
LSU’s offense last season missed numerous scoring opportunities in the red zone. All starting quarterback options are inexperienced.
LSU needs offensive help. Badly.
Sullivan has proved himself to be the guy that can get the offense back on track. He did the same thing at LSU in 1986.
This offensive powerhouse conditioned two-time All-American WR Wendell Davis who went on to set four receiving records that season. 
Tiger fans hope history will repeat itself this year with the receiver who wears the honorable number seven jersey, Jonathan Giles. 
Giles, a junior from Missouri City, Texas, transferred to LSU after two years at Texas Tech. 
As a sophomore, Giles was the leading receiver for the Raiders with 69 passes for 1,158 yards and 13 touchdowns. 
Sullivan has been working with Giles and the rest of the offense on a 50/50 offensive strategy: half passing, half rushing. 
Sullivan’s new offense will come to life at AT&T Stadium in Dallas against University of Miami for LSU’s first game of the 2018 season.
