Fashion Association at LSU will present the Annual Fashion Show.
This event will occur on May 9, 2018 from 5-8 p.m in the LSU Union Ballroom. Tickets are available for purchase on Eventbrite.com
Fashion Association at LSU is a student fashion organization dedicated to enhancing its’ member resume experience, fashion industry networking, and personal acumen of apparel design and similar concentration.
The fashion show is a showcase of the LSU sophomore, junior and senior apparel design students. This event also includes a styling competition that Merchandisers and Freshman are invited to participate in.
Mary Virginia Ayres and Madison Murray were interviewed on various topics such as: How they got into fashion, their favorite parts of the fashion show, and what have they done to prepare for this year’s showcase.
“I really fell in love with fashion probably I high school, whenever I realized just how confident and secure an outfit that I loved could make me feel. So, I would love to be a buyer for a company that I shop at to make other women feel the same way,” said  Murray.
“Whenever I was born basically, I was in love with fashion. If you picked up the wrong diaper I didn’t want to wear it. I’ve drawn sketches since I was in elementary school, and got to college, started sewing, and then full speed ahead cause that’s all I wanted to do,” said Ayres.
“This year we kind of did a 180 on everything they’ve done for the past few years, and we’re going to make it really cool this year,” said Ayres.
“There’s always something, you know. You have to be prepared and get ready for the chaos,” said  Ayres.
“I think my favorite part is being back stage and all the pandemonium that’s happening, quick changes, and all the craziness. It’s a lot of fun,” said Murray.
“We were the assistants last year to kind of learn how to run the fashion show for this year. I am actually a design major, so I showed a collection last year, and I will be showing another one this year,” said Ayres.
