Most high school football players look forward to playing underneath the Friday Night Lights at their school, listening to their fellow students and fans scream their mascot’s name in the stands.
That’s a privilege the Slaughter High School football players never had. Until this season.
Slaughter’s team was colonized in 2016 and has made their way up through the ranks as a 1A team. However, their fans were never able to enjoy their successes as they would play home games nearly an hour away.
Slaughter’s field and stadium is expected to be finished at the end of the summer. They hope to play the first game of the year at their new facility.
