LSU Emergency Operations said the University plans to remain open Wednesday, Sept. 5.
Baton Rouge is no longer under tropical storm or flash flood watch as Tropical Storm Gordon is expected to make landfall in Mississippi Tuesday night as a Category 1 hurricane, according to the National Weather Service New Orleans/Baton Rouge.
As the storm pushes east, much of Louisiana east of Baton Rouge is still under tropical storm and flash flood watch. NWS said Louisiana should expect between 3 to 6 inches of rainfall, and sporadic rain throughout Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Public Safety Day, which was scheduled to take place Wednesday afternoon, remains postponed.
