A man was arrested by LSUPD Friday following a false bomb threat made against the University, according to LSU Media Relations Director Ernie Ballard.
Evan Reagan James of Baton Rouge was taken into custody before 8:30 a.m. on Dec. 14 and was booked into East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on charges of communicating of false information of planned bombing on school property, at school-sponsored function or in a firearm-free zone.
Ballard said the University was notified of a bomb threat to campus in the early morning hours on Friday. LSUPD worked to determine the credibility of the threat, identify the person responsible and make the arrest.
While the threat was not credible, Ballard said LSUPD did a sweep of campus using K-9 unites as a precaution.
Ballard added that the University would like to remind everyone that if they see anything suspicious in their surroundings or online, to report it immediately to 225-578-3231.
