It was a moment that could have ruined most pitchers.
Former LSU pitcher Louis Coleman left a slider across the plate that led to a grand slam in the 9th inning of a tied elimination game against North Carolina in the College World Series, after being LSU’s best pitcher during a charmed 23-game winning streak late in the 2008 season.
The Tigers lost the game, 7-3, ending the team’s 2008 campaign.
More than three years later, Coleman is now a relief pitcher for the Kansas City Royals, which selected him in the fifth round of the 2009 draft, and has a National Championship ring from his 2009 senior season at LSU.
