-Despite notching a career-high 31 points, Blakeney was sidelined for the reminder of game after being called for a technical foul at the 2:44 mark. After Blakeney’s technical, the Tigers took care of business as the PMAC started to empty. 
-Hornsby finished as the Tigers’ second-leading scorer with 25 points, tying his second-highest scoring performance of this season
-Simmons extended his double-digit scoring streak to 18-straight games with 16 points on 7-for-11 shooting. The freshman forward also tallied a team-leading  nine rebounds and seven assists.

-The Tigers are dominating the Bulldogs with a balanced, aggressive attack, combining points in the paint wth pinpoint perimeter shooting. LSU has scored on 11 of its 15 possessions so far in the second half.

– The Tigers are settling into the game. LSU took its first lead with of the game with a steal and a dunk by Craig Victor at the end of a 7-0 run during the last two minutes.  
-Hornsby leads the Tigers with 10 points. Hornsby and Blakeney have combined for all of the Tigers’ four treys so far.

– Despite a slow start, the Tigers rallied back behind Hornsby and Simmons to cut the Bulldogs’ lead to a point. Mississippi State answered right back with back-to-back three-pointers to extend its lead to seven points.

– The Tigers started off slow, shooting just 4-for-13 from the field in the first eight minutes. Meanwhile, Mississippi State came out on fire from behind the arc with back-to-back treys before streaking out to as large as a 14-point lead. Blakeney ended the Bulldogs run with a three-pointer right before the time out.
