During the 58th Annual Grammy Awards last night, viewers received plenty of performances, tributes and the occasional award.
But, before the show kicked off, celebrities hit the red carpet showing off their best and bad looks. The Daily Reveille gave out its own awards for the ensembles that stood out, and for the ones that should have stayed home.
Best Creative Look: Lady Gaga. The singer and actress performed a memorable tribute in honor of David Bowie and brought back her avant-garde style to the carpet.
Best Classic Look: Justin Bieber. The singer donned a black and white suit with his little brother Jaxon Bieber as his date. Absolute perfection.
Best All Black Look: Demi Lovato. The performer is all about self-confidence and that showed on the carpet and during her part in the Lionel Richie tribute. Lovato’s style and vocals are on fire recently.
Best Transformation: Sam Smith. The crooner looked much different at the Grammy Awards last year and we all appreciate his style upgrade this year. Now all Smith needs to give us is a new album.
Worst Dysfunctional Look: Ciara. A little bit of skin is never a bad thing on the red carpet but someone should have told the singer this look was a little too ’90s-era “Girls Gone Wild.”
Worst Fitted Suit: Zendaya. Normally the R&B and pop singer gets all the style cues right, but from her new hair to her awkwardly shaped suit, this look is a no.
Worst Outdated Look: Meghan Trainor. There’s no way her stylist did not tell her large shoulder pads went out of style in the ’80s. And if she didn’t, Trainor needs to rethink her fashion team.
Worst “what is she wearing” Look: Kacey Musgraves. Is it a bird? Is it a plane? No, it’s a country singer.
Honorable Mention: Taylor Swift. The artist always gets it right on the carpet. Swift takes advantage of her body shape by trying out-of-the-box silhouettes. While everyone was on the fence about her new hair, the rest of her ensemble hit the mark.
