They all learn on different campuses, wear different colors and cheer for different mascots.
On Friday, they all came together for the same cause.
Students traveled from all over Louisiana to protest the possible budget cuts to higher education and the potential loss of the TOPS scholarship.
“Students come to our universities to gain knowledge and experience,” said Manship School of Mass Communication student Kendra Davis. “If these budget cuts go through, the future generations would not get the same opportunities we all have.”
Students were proud to see all the universities putting their differences aside for the good of higher education.
People there represented LSU, Southern University, Baton Rouge Community College, Southeastern and University of Louisiana at Lafayette.
The fight for higher education will continue Wednesday with another March the Capitol.
