The LSU volleyball team hopes to break its five-game losing streak and gain its third Southeastern Conference victory when it faces Ole Miss for the second time.
The two will play will meet when LSU hosts the Rebels at 7 p.m. on Friday in the PMAC.
Ole Miss (13-10, 2-8 SEC) takes the No. 11 spot in the SEC rankings and LSU (7-15, 2-9 SEC) follows at No. 12 position among the conference’s 13 ranked teams.
LSU coach Fran Flory said inconsistency had been a problem lately but the team is ready to win their first home game of the season.
“We have to have some sense of urgency tomorrow night,” Flory said in a press release on Thursday. “We really worked on a balance offense and defense this week. It’s going to be important to translate a great week of practice into the match and on to the court Friday.”
The Rebels are No. 8 in the SEC in assists and kills with an average of 12.15 assists and 13.09 kills. Also, Ole Miss is No. 9 in blocks at an average of 1.97 and second in digs at 14.98 per match.
The Tigers average 11.15 assists and 12.05 kills to take the No. 12 slot in the league. LSU is the SEC’s tenth-best in blocks with a 1.96 average and third in digs with an average of 14.41.
