Update: The school has confirmed Pocic will return for his senior season.
Two days after LSU learned it would be down one junior offensive lineman because of the NFL Draft, the Tigers are keeping another. Junior offensive lineman Ethan Pocic has decided to pass on the NFL Draft and return to LSU for his senior season, according to a report by The Advocate.
Pocic started all 12 games at center for the Tigers in 2015, leading the team with over 125 knockdown blocks.
In his sophomore season, the 6-foot-7 offensive lineman played in 12 of LSU’s 13 games, making appearances at both center and right guard. Over the last five games of the 2014 year, he did not miss an offensive snap.
While Pocic is projected as the No. 2 center for next year’s NFL Draft, the departures of Vadal Alexander and Jerald Hawkins give LSU openings at both tackle positions. Pocic figures to slide into one of those two spots along the line next season.
