The Buffalo Wild Wings Citrus Bowl kicks off Saturday on New Years Eve, and both the LSU Tigers and Louisville Cardinals say they’re enjoying their times in Orlando.
“We wanted to give them some freedom to do the things they want to do,” LSU coach Ed Orgeron said. “I believe as a team when you go eat together, when you go to Disney World together, those things are just as important as practice.”
The Tigers spent five hours in Disney World’s “Magic Kingdom” theme park on Wednesday.
Louisville coach Bobby Petrino said his team is enjoying the sunshine state as well.
“This is a beautiful area,” Petrine said, who owns a home in the area.
Petrino said his team traveled on Christmas night so they could get up early Monday morning and go to Universal Studios theme park.
The two teams enjoyed a nice luncheon together on Friday.
Highlights included Louisville quarterback and Heisman trophy winner, Lamar Jackson and LSU quarterback Danny Etling throwing prizes out to the crowd.
Despite all the fun, the coaches say their teams are focused on the game Saturday.
“We think that Louisville is one of the better football teams we’ve played this year,” Orgeron said.
Petrino says LSU’s defense will be the most talented his team’s faced all season.
