Students with discriminating culinary tastes will soon be craving the modern oriental tastes of Corporate Boulevard’s new P.F. Chang’s Chinese Bistro, a nationwide chain.
“Rarely do great beauty and virtue dwell together as they do in you,” said my après-dinner fortune cookie. One could use that same fortune to describe this restaurant — beautiful, tasteful, friendly and delicious.
Cheerful hosts led my friend and I into the restaurant to an even more cheerful group of waiters — the staff here are certainly happy with their jobs.
The restaurant features two outdoor patios, a bar, and a large dining room, decorated with a chic mix of modern and ancient decor — Bose surround sound stereos and metal-glass walls mix with terra-cotta warriors and Chinese murals.
The only place that could use some improvement is the bathroom. The ladies’ room is well decorated, but low on toilet paper and high on overflowing trash cans.
The restaurant caters to those with food allergies — they offer gluten-free, peanut-free and meat-free menus upon request.
If your food is too spicy, your friendly waiter will buy you another dish to cool your palette — the service is not only quick, it is generous.
The staff also takes pride in the restaurant’s appearance. When my companion spilled his Mango Tea, $2.00, three staff members immediately pounced on his spill to clean it up.
My date and I ordered Chang’s Chicken in Soothing Lettuce Wraps, $6.95, for an appetizer. The delicious cooked chicken wrapped in lettuce leaves could also easily feed one or two people a light lunch.
P.F. Chang’s serves meals family style, so everyone at your table can share their entrees and rice. My date and I ordered Chang’s Spicy Chicken, $11.50, and Beef a la Sichuan, $11.25. Both were delicious, simple and served in huge portions.
We ordered Banana Spring Rolls, $5.25, for dessert, six crispy banana spring rolls with coconut pineapple ice cream.
Our glasses were always full, our stomachs were always happy, and before we knew it, two relaxing hours at P.F. Chang’s had passed, leaving us satisfied and de-stressed.
P.F. Chang’s service quick, generous
