Season ticket holders can start making their travel plans to Tempe, Ariz.
LSU students will have to be a little more patient.
University officials said Tuesday they are still working with Arizona State on what to do with student tickets for Saturday’s game at in Tempe. LSU announced Monday the game would be moved from Baton Rouge due to complications from Hurricane Katrina.
Season ticket holders willing to travel 1,400 miles can use their tickets for admission at Sun Devil Stadium this weekend in Tempe, Ariz. But that doesn’t include student tickets, at least not yet. The Athletic Department has yet to make a decision on whether students will be allowed to use the tickets for this weekend in the same manner or be given a refund.
LSU Athletics Director Skip Bertman, along with other members of the Athletic Department were a meeting Tuesday, but hope to reach a decision about LSU student tickets within the next 48 hours, said associate athletics director Herb Vincent.
“There are a lot of decisions we are trying to make in a very short amount of time,” Vincent said. “We’ve never been through this situation before. I don’t know anyone who has been through this situation. We are taking each situation into account and trying to make the right decision. We ask for everyone to please be patient as we develop this plan.”
Season ticket holders and fans who purchased individual tickets who still plan on traveling to Arizona State have until 2 p.m. today to register with the LSU ticket office so they can attend the Arizona State game. Tickets will be given to Tiger ticket holders in Tempe.
