The serial killer task force is questioning a U.S. Postal Service mail carrier who may have seen someone in Carrie Yoder’s home after the police’s last account of her location, WBRZ reported late Tuesday.
Yoder is the 26-year-old biological sciences graduate student who was reported missing March 5.
WBRZ said the carrier told a neighbor near Yoder’s home what she encountered.
The neighbor said when the carrier delivered the mail March 3, Yoder’s box was empty. It also was empty when the carrier delivered the mail March 4, and when the carrier knocked on the door to deliver a package, a man answered the door and received the package.
Police have said the last account of Yoder at home was 7:45 p.m. March 3.
Baton Rouge Police Department Cpl. Mary Ann Godawa, spokeswoman for the task force, said the report was a part of the investigation she could neither confirm nor deny.
Anyone with information about the Yoder case can call the tipline at 1-866-389-3310.
