Hello, my name is Tom Brady.
I am the starting quarterback for the New England Patriots.
On Sunday, Feb. 1, my team won the Super Bowl in Houston, defeating a very solid Carolina Panthers team. It was our second Super Bowl victory in three years, both coming in dramatic, nail-biting fashion. And I led my team down the field both times to give it a chance to win.
I completed 32-of-48 passes for 354 yards and three touchdowns and only one interception on the biggest stage in the world.
I won my second Super Bowl Most Valuable Player award in as many tries and in my first go round at the big game I became the youngest quarterback to lead his team to a Super Bowl title.
I am unbelievably clutch. I am 6-0 in the NFL playoffs in my career, including my two Super Bowl MVP appearances and am 7-0 in career overtime games. I don’t know what the meaning of pressure is and I’m only 26. Not too bad, huh?
And don’t forget about my college career.
I went 20-5 as the starting quarterback of Michigan from 1997-99 and led my team to two bowl victories. So that keeps my undefeated postseason slate in tact.
When I came into the league in 2000, I was a sixth round draft choice of the Patriots and was selected 199th overall in the draft. Where was Peyton Manning drafted? Oh yeah, first overall. Well, we smoked his team in the AFC Championship game.
Oh yeah, did I mention I am filthy rich? In 2002, after leading my team to the championship, I signed a new contract worth a possible $30 million.
Not too shabby, especially for a guy who stumbled into the starting job after former Patriots quarterback Drew Bledsoe severely hurt himself early in the 2001 season.
I like Drew and so did the fans around here, but he doesn’t play here anymore, so I never have to look over my shoulder.
I’m not just a football player. I was drafted in the 18th round of the amateur Major League Baseball draft by the Montreal Expos in 1995 out of high school, so I’m an all-around good athlete.
I actually have the power to make Bostonians forget about the hard luck Boston Red Sox, even if it isn’t for a very long time. Obviously, all of Boston isn’t cursed.
I don’t stick strictly to sports either.
I’ve been rumored to have dated actress Tara Reid and have even been spotted with singing diva Mariah Carey, at least according to Entertainment Tonight.
Oops, I almost forgot I was recently a guest of First Lady Laura Bush at the president’s State of the Union address. Hmmm, maybe I’ll get into politics after my playing days are over. I could probably run for governor of Massachusetts right now and win.
And one last thing. Almost every girl at every Super Bowl party Sunday probably thinks I’m hot.
Yea, it’s safe to say I lead a pretty good life.
Brady’s life not too bad
