Louisiana State Police have issued a warrant for the arrest of former LSU wide receiver Kyren Lacy. The warrant cites charges of negligent homicide, and felony hit-and-run.
The warrant comes following a December 17, 2024 traffic crash that caused the death of Herman Hall of Thibodaux, who was a former marine. The crash also caused injuries for two others.
Police allege Lacy was traveling at high speeds south on Louisiana Highway 20 in a 2023 Dodge Charger where he “recklessly passed multiple vehicles at a high rate of speed by crossing the centerline and entering the northbound lane while in a designated No-Passing Zone.”
While traveling at high speeds, Lacy is said by police to have caused the head-on collision of a Kia Cadenza and a Kia Sorento.
A document from Louisiana State Police alleges the Cadenza was traveling north on Louisiana Highway 20 when it crossed into the south-bound lane to avoid Lacy’s Dodge, causing it to collide head-on with the Sorento in the southbound lane.
The document alleges Lacy sped around the scene of the crash without stopping to render aid, calling emergency services, or reporting his involvement in the crash.
Lacy declared for the 2025 NFL Draft two days after the accident.
