LSU gymnasts, Lexi Zeiss and Kailin Chio, spoke with the media on Tuesday before their next match in the PMAC against Florida.
Chio touched on how it feels to win CO-SEC Freshman of the Week, and she was honored to receive the work. She never came in wanting to win the award, but rather focused on how she could best benefit the team.
“I have just been trying to do what’s best for the team and doing it for them, not just for myself,” Chio said.
Zeiss and Chio talked about how they felt in terms of the first SEC match in the PMAC. While most would expect the freshman to be scared, they are both looking forward to it. Zeiss, especially, is looking forward to the high energy.
“Our team thrives off having fun and using the energy in PMAC to our advantage,” Zeiss said.
The tigers are not focusing on the opponent at hand; they are preparing to give it all they got. This is something Head Coach Jay Clark always stresses, and that is exactly what the tigers will do against the gators on Jan. 17.
