The National Pan-Hellenic Council at LSU oversees the historically Black fraternities and sororities on campus, known as the Divine Nine. These groups are committed to fostering leadership, community service, and unity within the Greek community and black student body.
As Black History Month begins, the NPHC is preparing to celebrate Black Americans ; contributions tThe N-P-H-C is excited to celebrate and invites all LSU students to join in the festivities as they honor Black History Month and the impact of Black Americans throughout history.
Through a series of events aimed at raising awareness and honoring the history and culture of the Black community.
In an interview with NPHC President Kaitlin Phenix, she discussed what Black History Month means to her and the LSU community. “A celebration of our history and the history that we can continue to make at Lsu and in our own lives after Lsu” Phenix said. “It’s also a reminder of the work that still needs to be done for equality and justice.”
Phenix went on to highlight some of the exciting events the N-P-H-C has planned, including a cookout for students and a series of cultural activities on the Parade Grounds. These events will provide students with opportunities to engage, learn, and celebrate Black culture together.
