As we all know February is Black History Month and Louisiana State University is celebrating with this year’s theme engagement.
The university is highlighting the importance of active participation, inclusion and creating community among students of various backgrounds.
Throughout this month, LSU will be hosting many events that encourage students, faculty and staff to get involved both on and off campus. They had events including the Kickoff, Investors and Scientists, and Soul Service Sunday.
“The theme for black history month here at LSU 2025 is definitely engagement. Engagement is an opportunity for all of our tigers to come into knowledge share to build community to seek resources to do what we do every day and that’s creating community with engaging conversations and exchanges,” Director of the African American Cultural Center Sharalle Arnold said.
With events such as HIV Awareness and testing, seminars, panel discussions and the Annual Unity Celebration LSU’s Black History Month programming emphasizes the university’s commitment to diversity, inclusion and meaningful engagement for all students.
