On Monday afternoon, Men’s Basketball Head Coach Matt McMahon sat down in a press conference to discuss their win against Oklahoma, an update on Tre’Drez Green and his keys to the game for his team as they face South Carolina Tuesday at 8 p.m. at the PMAC.
McMahon began by praising Senior Guard Cam Carter on a dominating performance in which he scored 29 points and four rebounds to help the Tigers put the Sooners away.
“I was really happy for Cam,” McMahon said. “I don’t know that I recall a time a player in a half having two four-point plays and two three-point plays in the same half of basketball.”
McMahon also discussed Freshman Forward Trey’Dez Green’s situation, telling the media that Green will be stepping away from the team to focus on academics after talking with Football Head Coach Brian Kelly.
Towards the end of the press conference, McMahon wanted to address what they needed to focus on as a team and their keys to the game as they face South Carolina.
“The last four games our ball security has been much better. Turning the ball as much as getting more shots on goal, that has to continue for us as we go down the final six games in league play.”
The Tigers are set to host the Gamecocks Tuesday at 8 p.m. in the PMAC.
