LSU Softball head coach Beth Torina spoke to the media after a disappointing 14-4 loss against the No. 8 Florida Gators.
Torina understood that going into the first game of the series, the Tigers needed to perform well pitching and at bat; however, with a discouraging loss like this, Torina expressed how this game was a frustrating bump in the road for her team and expects better.
"Tough day," Torina said. "Just couldn’t seem to find the answers for them (Florida).”
“It’s tough to keep going when you just never seem to like control them.Tough to continue to have hope like that when you feel like there is no end to them scoring”
Despite LSU’s Tori Edwards hitting a three-run home run into left field to allow the Tigers back into the game within the third inning, it wasn’t enough for them offensively. With the Gators scoring in every inning after the first, it was too much for LSU to handle.
Torina and LSU hope to keep moving forward after their opening game loss as they face Florida on Sunday at 5 p.m. CT in Tiger Park.
