LSU Football held its open spring practice on Saturday in place of the spring game. The Tigers showed the fans what they can expect for the upcoming 2025-2026 season.
In Saturday’s practice, it seemed that the LSU defense had the upper hand on the offense. The defense caused multiple turnovers on downs and the defensive line got in the quarterback’s face to disrupt throws.
New defensive line coach and former Pro Bowler Kyle Williams has his guys in the trenches working hard to get after quarterbacks and to disrupt the run game. LSU fans can expect an improved front seven this upcoming season.
On the offensive side, star running back Caden Durham sat out with an ankle injury, so other players got the chance for more reps.
Freshman running back Harlem Berry looked great navigating the holes the offensive line made. Head coach Brian Kelly calls Berry a “natural runner”.
LSU looks to improve its run game and today they showed off some new improvements by adding some misdirection to diversify the run game.
Quarterbacks Garrett Nussmeier and Michael Van Buren Jr. made timely throws and showed their connections with receivers.
Don’t expect Van Buren to sit back to Nussmeier because today they showed a competitive fight with both quarterbacks playing well.
The Tigers open their season against Clemson on Aug. 30 at Memorial Stadium in Clemson, South Carolina.
