LSU Outfielder Jake Brown and Pitcher Chase Sores spoke to the media before the team heads to Omaha and plays Arkansas.
Shores spoke very highly of Johnson as a coach and the mindset he implements for himself and the team.
“He is one of the best head coaches in the nation,’ Shores said, ‘getting to Omaha is kind of his way for all of the hard work paying off too.”
Shores is one of the few who has been to Omaha before, and he said the younger guys have been asking him a lot of questions. The most common one may or may not surprise you.
“What kind of gear are we gonna get?” Shores said.
Overall, Shores is excited to compete against some new talent, besides Arkansas. All of the teams in the tournament this year were not in the tournament last year.
“I am excited for that and for there to be a new crowned championship,” Shores said.
Brown’s interview was a lot more light hearted. He gave some insider information on the atmosphere of the baseball team, like how Derek Curiel blows up their Snapchat group chat at all hours of the night.
“Derek’s a strange dude. I love him to death; you never know what you are going to get,” Brown said.
After outing Curiel for sending various TikTok links to the team, he talked about how most of the team brings their gaming systems and plays video games in the rooms.
All jokes aside, the Fighting Tigers are eager to get to Omaha and play some ball.
