LSU Baseball Left-Handed Pitcher Kade Anderson and FIrst Baseman Jared Jones spoke with the media Thursday after the Tigers’ first practice in Charles Schwab Field.
Anderson is coming off of what was statistically the worst start of his season, and although he still got the win over West Virginia, the redshirt sophomore is looking to bounce back in a big way.
“Having those experiences and learning from them as well, I think those type of things prepare you for the playoffs,” Anderson said. “And this is just another week for us, realistically. Coach Johnson prepares us that way. And we’ll be ready when it comes Saturday.”
This will be round four between the Tigers and the Hogs when they do battle Saturday night, with the Tigers having won the series earlier in the year.
“With Coach Yeskie’s help, it will be just another game,” Anderson said of the matchup against Arkansas. “And we’ll have a plan, and we’ll stick to that and just continuing to work out there and be present in it.”
Jared Jones is coming off a strong regional as well, having broken out of the slump he faced late in the SEC schedule.
“Now that we’re here we’ve just got to stick to kind of what’s made us successful all year,” Jones said of his teams preparation. “And not try to do too much or get caught up in the emotions of the game and just play our brand of baseball.”
LSU will lock horns with the Razorbacks at 6 p.m. on Saturday in what is expected to be a packed Charles Schwab Field in Omaha.
