LSU Right-Handed Pitchers Chase Shores and Anthony Eyanson spoke with the media after their practice at Tal Anderson Field in Omaha on Sunday.
Shores had a strong outing in Saturday’s 4-1 win over Arkansas, throwing an inning of shutout relief, striking out two hitters on only 10 pitches.
Shores’s strong outing was sandwiched between two other strong outings, one from Starter Kade Anderson, who threw seven innings of one-run baseball, and freshman Casan Evans, who closed the game in the ninth.
LSU’s strong pitching performance will now get followed up by the second half of the Tigers’ ace duo, Anthony Eyanson.
Eyanson had an uncharacteristic start in the Super Regional, and he’ll look to bounce back against a similar, but red-hot, UCLA offense.
UCLA took their first game against the darlings of this tournament, Murray State, by a score of 6-4, and the Bruins look to enter the catbird seat of bracket two in Omaha.
The Tigers and the Bruins will hit the field at 6 p.m. on ESPN, as both teams aim for the extra day off that comes with a 2-0 start in the CWS.
